Has O'Neill Lost His Appeal?

Are Eugene O'Neill's plays lacking in appeal to the under '30 generation?
They resonated for folks born in the early 20th century because they dealt with issues so important then: the decline of agrarian New England, the rise of materialism, the prevalence of poverty and so on. I read them in college.
What about now?

  1. There is a level on which everything must be current these days or it risks getting buried under the avalanche of information coming at us all. If O'Neil was blogging on the New Yorker site or in Talk of the Town, or drinking at White Horse and sending UTUBES of his performance there, well then we would notice. Who would he be linked too and would he link at all?
